This Scholar and Art Specialist is well known for many trips he made worldwide, where he searched for, discovered and identified examples of Azerbaijani carpets. He located them in a variety of museums, private collections and antique shops, and then wrote extensively about their provenance and styles. As
a result of this work, two books were published, one in 1980, "The Decorative and Applied Arts of Azerbaijan in World Museums’, and a second in 2009, Azerbaijani Fine Arts in World Museums’. The majority of the examples of Decorative Art described in these books are carpets that came from Azerbaijan.
