MP3 / 64 kb/s / monoВ данном архиве учебник и звукозаписи.The Defense Language Institute Russian Refresher is a six-week, instructor-driven course that is designed for the student who has completed an intensive year of Russian. •The objective of the course is to remind the student of those structural features which he/she theoretically knows, as well as to reinforce the skills of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and speaking.
Each of the twenty-four lessons (three modules) comprising the course contains the following components:
Grammar. The objective of this component is to review briefly the basic principles of Russian morphology and syntax. Rules of formation and usage are stated in both narrative and tabular formats. An application section drilling the given grammatical topics completes the component.
Conversation. The objective of this component is the review and automatization of conversational formulas in their appropriate register as well as the reinforcement of the oral mode of communication. Each component contains a tabular presentation of language functions, an interpreter exercise, and a section devoted to extemporaneous conversation. The first two parts are followed by a variety of exercises.
Listening Comprehension. The objective of this component is the reinforcement of auditory memory and the refinement of the skill of listening comprehension. Each component contains the following sections: radiograms, number extraction, rapid fire drill, and a dictation.
Homework. The objective of this component is the reinforcement of the skills of reading comprehension and translation. Part I consists of a sentence level English to Russian translation, Part II of a text level Russian to English translation.
Translation. The objective of this component is the reinforcement of the skill of reading comprehension through the technique of textual analysis. Activities consist of an analysis and discussion of the translations done for homework, practice in decoding messages on the basis of context, and a topical discussion in Russian.
Comprehension and communication. The objective of this component is the reinforcement and further development of the skills of listening comprehension and speaking. Activities include: a dictation extraction of the essential elements of information from aural stimuli, a simulated interrogation, practice in circumlocution, topical discussion and reports on current events.
