Cognitive linguists study time as a cognitive phenomenon, which can be investigated, in part, from its linguistic reflexes. Being interdisciplinary in nature, cognitive linguistics has approached the study of time from various perspectives. In addition to linguistics, research on temporal cognition has been informed by findings from experimental psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and (cognitive) anthropology. This chapter addresses the key questions that cognitive linguistics has raised and attempted to answer, with respect to time.
